Firs, we visit the Nazari Castle in Salobreña. After a leisurely time breathing the fresh, Mediterranean air and enjoying a quick coffee break, we move on to Almuñecar. This is the town where AbdulRahman, the last Umayyad of Damascus and first of al-Andalus, first landed in Spain. Here you'll see a small coastal castle and cave dating back to the town's oldest historical accounts. Later, enjoy a stroll through a botanical garden containing some of Europe's oldest and most exotic palm tree specimens. Next to the botanical garden is a similar park known for tropical birds and cacti. Our favourite location for eating is in front of Peñon rock, near Salobreña's beach.
